WHAT'S INCUBATING...

Snakes Alive is a legitimate breeder of Ball Pythons (Python regius). There are reptile merchants who simply import hatchlings for resale, claiming that they breed, other merchants simply buy hatchlings locally for resale at inflated prices, also claiming to have bred them. Not many breeders will openly say and provide proof of "This is what I bred, here is the proof, here are the eggs. 5 eggs were laid in this clutch, and I am expecting 5 to hatch."

We hope to give you, the buyer, a subtle comfort from seeing the clutches of eggs we produce each season.

CLUTCH #2

On the 04/12/2013 our Normal het. Axanthic (VPI Line) Ball Python female laid 5 beautiful healthy eggs weighing in at 485g (97g each)! She was paired with an Pastel het. Axanthic (VPI Line) male as well as an Axanthic (VPI Line) Ball Python male. The eggs are due to hatch 29 Jan - 2 Feb 2014 (55 - 60 days).

According to the genetics, roughly 50% of the clutch should be Axanthic Ball Pythons.

Lets hope the Odds gods are with us!

Update (11/02/2014): Hatched on 69 days. 1 Pastel male 66% possibly het. Axanthic (VPI line). 3 normal females 66% possibly het. Axanthic (VPI line). The het. Axanthic female retained sperm from the previous season's mating which was Pastel het. Axanthic male x het. Axanthic female, hence the presence of a Pastel in the clutch.

CLUTCH #1

On the 26/11/2013 our het. Albino female laid 5 beautiful healthy eggs weighing in at 560g (112g each)! She was paired with a beautiful Albino male. The eggs are due to hatch 21 - 25 Jan 2014 (55 - 60 days).

According to the genetics, roughly 50% of the clutch should be Albino Ball Pythons.

Lets hope the Odds gods are with us!

Update (28/01/2014): On day 63 I decided to
cut the eggs.

Update (31/01/2014): The offspring produced by this pairing are two Albinos, 1 Normal, 1 that SEEMS to be Pastel and the
two headed ball python seems to be Pastel as well. I will have to wait for them to grow to make 100% sure.

Update (02/02/2014): The offspring classification has been updated to 2 Albinos, 2 Normals, and 1 two-headed Ball Python. Watch the video here.
